A BIG-WIN! WITH A SMALL FRUIT

Change is hard, especially when trying to create healthy new habits.  So instead of jumping full force into your New Year resolution for a better, healthier, smarter you, take it slow. How about one new habit each month? Huh!

Every month we will focus on one topic and by this time next year, you’ll be a whole new YOU!  Failing to achieve goals can adversely impact on our self-esteem and mental health. The key is to set several small goals and watch your tiny victories add up to a Big- Win. EXCITED?

Let’s start the year with most doable of things – EAT! EAT! EAT! But eat more fruit!

The best part is that there are studies to prove that eating fruits increase people’s happiness. Changing food habits by including a few fruit portions a day can make a change not only to your health but also to your mental wellbeing. Easy han?

The difficult part is to find a foolproof way to stick with the PLAN. In order to follow this, you need to remove all psychological and practical barriers that stop us from eating fruit.  What could these be? Here are some I thought of – Fruits are too expensive; too difficult to get and time-consuming to eat. Well if you are honest with yourself none of these are difficult to overcome. You can always choose to eat the fruits that are in season and locally available.

SO WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?
Go out and buy them. Eat them while working at your desk, watching television or even walking. Try eating them whole without going through the trouble of juicing them. (Juicing fruits is not only a waste of time but also waste of valuable pulp and fiber). In fact, juicing contains more calories and eliminates the fiber and antioxidant-rich flavonoids available in whole fruits.
For a happier and healthier 2018 go ahead and pick-up a fruit or visit our blog for more lifestyle hacks. There are plenty to chose from your roadside vendor – just rinse with water and eat on your way to work, meeting or home.
